November 2017 Favorites – Beauty & Lifestyle

Two more days until the last day of November! Crazy how time flies even when you’re not doing anything 🙂

This is my second favorites post and I think I have quite a list to share with you! I have a lot of skincare products, one stand-out makeup product (only one because I don’t leave the house :D), and food, shows and music picks. You can also check out my YouTube video, which will be at the end of this post to see all my favorites live 🙂 For now, if you want to read about my favorites, then please keep scrolling!

**Many items mentioned are in previous blog posts!

Makeup Favorite

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette

I must’ve mentioned this palette at least 5 times now on my Instagram and blog together (like here). This palette is pure gold. The shadows are pigmented beyond belief (one look and your brush is coated) and all of them not only go well with each other, but are also wearable for all year round. I’m definitely sticking with this palette for any shadow looks I’m going to do. What else is amazing about this palette is the duo-ended shadow brush that it comes with!! The smaller brush packs on shadow like a dream and applies shadow to the lower lash line with ease and smudges it out into smoky sexiness. The blending brush fits perfectly in my crease to apply my transition color and also blends out harsh edges without my having to use a separate brush. I can take this palette and I’ll have the perfect eyeshadow look without having to take any other brushes. Check out my blog posts about this palette, AND PLEASE BUY IT! You won’t regret it.

Skincare Favorites

Lansinoh HPA Lanolin AKA Nipple balm

I LOVE nipple balm. It moisturizes the HECK out of my dry, flaky, cracked and peeling lips and actually helps them recover by providing a protective barrier over the top. I talk about it in depth in this post, so check that out to know more about why I love this gem so much and what else I use it! It’s questionable, yes, but we’re in the 21st century and a lot of things that were only used for their intended purposes are now considered… still weird but OK to use for other purposes 😀

TONY MOLY Pure Eco Bamboo Clear Water Fresh Toner

I mentioned this toner two weeks ago. You can watch the video of my first impressions of it and also read the corresponding blog post here. Since then, I’ve used it every morning and night in replacement of my First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads because it’s way more moisturizing and my skin can do without exfoliating ingredients that are not mixed into a more moisturizing product for the time being. My skin definitely feels more hydrated, so it’s perfect for the colder weather.

OSEA Malibu Ocean Cleansing Milk

I’ve been using this cleanser for two months now and I love it for cleansing my skin thoroughly while not stripping it. You can read my blog post on my first impressions of it here and in my evening skincare routine post here. It’s a cleansing milk so it’s extremely gentle on the skin. I have an oily t-zone, but I’d still recommend it for combo skin types and especially for those with dry and sensitive skin. I can definitely feel the difference in how my skin feels afterward when I use this versus a foaming cleanser especially when I come out of the shower. Basically, it’s not tight 🙂

Vanicream + AVEENO Eczema Therapy Itch Relief Balm

After my week-long trip to humid Florida but FREEZING COLD Universal Studio (the constant central air EVERYWHERE indoors), I returned in a frenzy because my the skin on my legs were irritated, itchy, scaly, PARCHED and flaky. I had to get to the nearest store to grab something to relieve my poor skin. I picked up a huge tub of Vanicream–this godsend of a treatment. My entire body was irritated, but it was my legs that needed emergency care. At first, I layered on five products to relieve my skin. I did this for two months until I realized that all that layering was further irritating my legs. I dialed it back to these two products and they’ve been doing nothing short of helping my skin recover and keeping them moisturized. I’ll do a whole post and video about my body care, featuring these two saviors!

Lifestyle Favorites

Scalp Detox

I would’ve put this in its own category (for hair care), but I only had to do this once this month to see results that I’m definitely going to do this next month and the month after that. With the world on the highway to hell due to global warming, the skin on my body isn’t the only thing that’s irritated, dry, itchy and flaky. My scalp suffered a lot, too. You can read my blog post about my weekly hair care routine here. I recently watched a video by beautyklove on YouTube on how to detoxify your scalp from all of the products and everyday conditions of life. I tried it ONCE about a week or week and a half ago and wow. I was floored. For two whole days, my scalp wasn’t itchy. And because it wasn’t itchy, it wasn’t flaky or irritated because I didn’t scratch it. Click here to watch that video and try out the routine. You’ll thank her IMMEDIATELY afterward.

Pickled Vegetables

If you haven’t kept up with me on my insta stories, then you have no idea how often I eat this. My two aunts started making this more often lately and honestly I think it’s because of me lol I’ve ALWAYS loved their pickled veggies. The veggies are soaked in vinegar. Unfortunately, this isn’t fermented. Meaning, pickling is when vegetables are preserved in an acid, which in this case is vinegar. Fermentation comes from the liquids (natural sugars) that veggies (i.e. cabbage) produce as they sit on your kitchen counter for days. Either way, these are delicious. I’ll share the recipe on my blog in the near future!!

It started out in a small container, and then recently, it’s come to light that I love this stuff, so my aunt made a much bigger batch LOL.

– Music Favorites

I love Sam Smith’s new album The Thrill Of It All. Favorite song picks are Too Good At Goodbyes, Midnight Train, Baby, You Make Me Crazy, The Thrill Of It All and One Day At A Time. I listen to his album whenever I need feel-good music that has depth and soul. There’s a connection to his music that keeps me entranced.

– Netflix Favorites

The Great British Baking Show

The Big Family Cooking Showdown

If you love passion in competitions, watch these. It’s amazing to watch people do what they love to do and know that they can excel doing just that. Plus, I want to mention how much I love British cooking/baking shows. The contestants are genuinely kind to each other. So refreshing especially in competitions. It seriously is a tear-jerker for me whenever I watch people super passionate about their craft.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my favorites for the month. Let me know what your favorites are and please recommend to me shows to watch on Netflix!

Thank you so much for reading<3
