Mini Macy’s Haul + 1st Impressions

Hello reader friends! This is a follow-up post to my YouTube video on my mini Macy’s haul that I uploaded yesterday. If you haven’t seen that video yet, please check it out (scroll down to the end of this post to watch it!). I try out the products in the video, too! I will definitely do an update post on what I think about the products and if they’re really worth trying or repurchasing when that time comes!

Items I Purchased

TONY MOLY Latte Art Strawberry Latte Cream-In Scrub

I picked up this product because I wanted to try a more hydrating scrub since it’s been so much colder out and my skin is dry but still prone to clogged pores and breakouts. Besides, look how cute it is!

Glycerin Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate Water Polysorbate 80 Sucrose Cetearyl Alcohol Cetyl Alcohol Microcrystalline Wax Glyceryl Stearate PEG-100 Stearate Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891) Fragrance Butylene Glycol Lactose Phenoxyethanol Honey Extract Ethylhexylglycerin Caprylyl Glycol Cellulose Prunus Persica (Peach) Flower Extract Sansevieria Trifasciata Leaf Extract Hedera Helix (Ivy) Leaf/Stem Extract Hemerocallis Fulva Flower Extract Nymphaea Odorata Root Extract Myriophyllum Spicatum Extract Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Flower/Leaf Extract Disodium EDTA Benzophenone-5 Citric Acid Fragaria Chiloensis (Strawberry) Fruit Extract Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose Caffeine CI 17200 Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract CI 19140 Milk Protein Extract Acetyl Hexapeptide-8.

On clean, dry skin, gently massage the product in until you feel a warming sensation. Then rinse off.

It’s like glue when you dig the spatula into it and pull it out. On the face, though, when massaging the product around, it never felt sticky. It felt very much like a clay mask that never dried down. And it sure looked like one, too!

Afterward, my face was definitely brightened. There are no exfoliating bits to the scrub (the strawberry seeds were so sparse that I only felt a couple!), but the brightening ingredients in the product are powerful enough to have made my complexion much brighter. As the day went on, I kept looking at my face in the mirror whenever I had to use the bathroom because my face was glowing.

I also mentioned in the video that because it’s actually pretty hydrating, it softened up my skin and allowed my inflamed pimples (you can see them in the video) that were red to come to a whitehead. Of course, rinsing it off with lukewarm water helped that. But, I was so surprised to see that my pimples were ready to pop!

The disappointing part of this product is the scent. I mentioned in the video that it smells like artificial strawberries. Remember the smell of Strawberry Shortcake and that’s what this smells like! I even smelled the scrub when I already rinsed it off minutes before. However, it really isn’t that off-putting to me that I’ll cease using it. I really enjoyed the experience and I look forward to using it the next time I want a hydrating exfoliant!

TONY MOLY Pure Eco Bamboo Clear Water Fresh Toner

Running low on my witch hazel toner, I decided to pick this one up as a replacement for the dry winter months that are coming up.

Bambusa Vulgaris Water, Bambusa Vulgaris Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Trehalose, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Potassium Hydroxide. PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Water, Glycerin, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Xylitol, Parfum.

It’s a thicker liquid when it comes out of the bottle. But, when poured onto a cotton pad or hand, it goes across the skin like any liquid-y toner. It leaves the skin feeling slightly tacky but absorbs quickly.

This is the 2nd time I’ve used this toner and I really like it. It makes my skin feel super hydrated and my skin actually has a glow to it, too when I use it.

NOTE: For both TONY MOLY products, there is fragrance and parfum, respectively. Just be aware of that if you have the same concerns as I do with those ingredients that could potentially irritate your skin.

Shiseido Facial Cotton

I heard just way too many good things about these cotton pads, namely that they’re ultra soft (so they’re gentle on the skin) and that they don’t absorb product as much as regular cottons pads, that I just had to pick them up!

Check the video for a closer look at how amazing these pads are! I can attest for the reviews of these pads. I used them over my eyes, too and it’s like being caressed by angels lol

Clarins Instant Light Comfort Lip Oil – 04 Candy

I don’t know how this ended up in my cart, but I’m glad I got it because I finally got to try a product that a couple YouTubers really like.

It’s thick and sticky. During application, it actually swipes across the lips smoothly like an oil. But, when I smacked my lips together, it felt quite tacky. I felt okay with it on my lips for the duration of the video. It felt like I had a balm on.

I couldn’t tell if it tinted my lips at first, but I think as time went on, I saw that my lips developed a much deeper, berry look. Maybe hot pink is a better description.

It smells like candy! A little artificial, but definitely sweet.

Tacky, but it felt comfortable on the lips. I wouldn’t use this as a treatment. Even though it’s meant to be hydrating (it’s oily), it’s still a lip color. It’s more like a hydrating lip gloss to me.

Kiehl’s Crème de Corps (travel size)

My dry, eczema-riddled skin was asking for me to try this body moisturizer! What better way to try a product than in a travel size? 🙂

It’s thick but creamy. It disappears into the skin but leaves behind a slippery feel. I’d say to give it about a minute or 2 before moving on with your life 😀

Typical lotion smell. Pleasant when it goes on and immediately dissipates when you’re done with application. Set it and forget it.

I really like it! I’m still unsure if it does anything different than Vanicream, but I’m really happy I tried it. This is a cult product among beauty enthusiasts and I know why. If you can’t afford it, though, don’t fret. It’s very moisturizing, but you can definitely find more affordable moisturizers that deliver the same results. But if I could afford it, I’d totally buy this all the time!!

Just added that I got a sample in my order of the Shiseido Ginza Tokyo Future Solution LX Intensive Firming Contour Serum. I always get Shiseido samples with my Macy’s beauty orders which is great, but whenever I use powerful anti-aging products, my skin reacts negatively and dries up and breaks outs :S My skin’s not ready to be at that point yet, yay!

And here’s the video! I recommend you watch it to see how the products apply.

That’s it for my mini Macy’s beauty haul! I love being informative so you get value from my work. I hope you enjoyed reading and/or watching my video. Thanks so much for visiting! Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products and what your thoughts on them are. If not, what product(s) would you try?

Until next time,
